Seven Postulants 2017

Come be merciful! Seven young courageous women were on 31st May 2017 received as Postulants in the Congregation during a solemn mass celebrated by the Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator Fr. Philson Kabaso. The mass celebrated in the St. Lucy Novitiate Chapel was characterized by joyful jubilation as the Sisters of Mercy celebrated 40 years of existence. The following were received: Florence Chilamo, Bridget Mulala, Edith Kaluba, Felistus Mwaba, Belinda Kasongo, Florence Mwansa, Racheal Kapembwa. During the same mass 2 Postulants, Sylvia Mbasela and Matildah Mabo were received as 2nd Year Postulants.

Apostolic call: We take it to ourselves to live a selfless life of ministry in imitation of Jesus who, “stepped ashore” to teach and to heal the sick. “There are many things we want to respond to that hold people back from living fully, such as: ignorance, selfishness, fear, sin, many hardships in body and mind coming from the conditions of life and sometimes from the nastiness of other people.” Rule of Life pg.19.

Our Objectives are

a. To bring God’s compassion to the world in veneration and imitation of the Compassionate Heart of Jesus and Mary Mother of God, and the sanctification of our members by radical commitment to our vowed life.
b. To be in word and deed a living witness of God’s compassion for His people.
c. To live a life of prayer and service.
d. To read and respond to the signs of the times in the universal world especially in alleviating the sufferings of our people.

Come and stay awhile with the Lord!

Compassion

“And he stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, and His heart went out to them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And He set himself to teach them and healed their sick.” (Mt.9:36).

Come be compassionate!!
